Introduction

Do you struggle with maintaining eye contact while reading scripts during your video recordings? No worries! In this blog post, we will reveal a super cool tool and share some powerful tips that will completely transform the way you read scripts while looking directly into the camera.

How To Place Your Video Script

Tip #1: Placement of Your Script

When recording a video, having your script placed off to the side will cause you to turn your head away from the camera. Instead, place your script near the camera and simply tilt your eyes to the right or left. This prevents your head from moving dramatically off the camera, making your video appear more natural and engaging.

Tip #2: Record One Point at a Time

Instead of trying to remember multiple points at once, focus on one bullet point at a time. This method simplifies scripting, even if you don't read any script word for word. By focusing on one point at a time and recording in separate clips, you can deliver your content effectively and avoid confusion.

How To Use Eye Contact Correction

Descript is an AI video editor that takes care of all your video editing needs. For our purposes, we will focus on its eye contact correction feature.

Here's how to use Descript for eye contact correction:
  1. Load your video file by clicking on 'New Project.'
  2. Choose a file to transcribe. Navigate to the file in your Windows Explorer or Finder on Mac and double-click it.
  3. Transcribe your video by clicking on 'Transcribe' and then 'Done.'
  4. Wait for Descript to prepare your video (it might take a few moments).
  5. If you have any unwanted parts of your video, simply hit 'Delete' to remove them.
  6. Click on 'Effects' and then the plus sign to add the 'Eye Contact' effect (currently in beta).
  7. Wait for Descript to apply the eye contact effect to your video.
Once Descript completes the process, your eyes will automatically be adjusted and appear as if you're looking directly into the camera.

By following the tips mentioned earlier, such as keeping your script near the camera and focusing on one point at a time, you'll enhance the effectiveness of Descript's eye contact correction, making your videos appear more natural and engaging.
